We’re halfway through 2019, can you believe it? As summer rages on, we want to introduce you to the awesome applicants who joined Firespring this quarter. 

Read on to see what makes each of these new faces a perfect fit for our crazy cool team, two separate skydiving stories and one hot take on Star Wars!

Justin Matthews joined our team as a software engineering intern (and he’s SO excited about working with his older brother, Dylan).

 

Q: What skills do you bring to the table?

I’ve played two years of college sports, and as a college athlete, I’ve learned how to work as a team to complete a common goal.

Nathan Kolbas, another software engineering intern, Nathan showed up ready to rock it.

 

Q: What do you like best about working at Firespring?

The community is absolutely amazing and wonderful to be around. Makes work feel less like…work.

Cindy Hernandez joined our Omaha office as a business development associate and has been a great addition to our team.

 

Q: What’s something interesting about you?

I have dual citizenship because I was born in Mexico.

Allison Mellick has been crushing it as a project manager on our support team. Nothing escapes her watchful eye.

 

Q: What skills do you bring to the table?

My special skills include, but are not limited to, extroverted friendliness that comes in handy on client phone calls and an ability to quote movies at the drop of a hat.

Ethan Borden also joined our software engineering intern team this year.

 

Q: What’s something interesting about you?

I once went skydiving on a whim. My brother and I had been talking about it for a while, and one day we just decided to call some places and see if they were doing it. After we got down we were both high off of the adrenaline.

Hassan Abdelsamad has been another awesome addition to our software engineering team as an intern.

 

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at Firespring?

My favorite things about working here are the culture and the people—everyone is very helpful and has each other’s backs.

Kyle Bristol has been a great asset to the sales development team as an intern.

 

Q: What’s something interesting about you? 

I have been to 9 countries, 13 national parks and 22 states. (You could say I like to travel.) Ultimately, I want to travel to more than 100 countries, all 60 national parks and all 50 states.

Andrew Buckwalter also joined our software engineering team as an intern this summer and been doing some awesome problem solving for our clients.

 

Q: What skills do you bring to the table? 

I enjoy problem solving and will work relentlessly to find the best solution to any problems presented to me.

Nicole Skovsende is here to coordinate projects and chew bubble gum, and she’s all out of bubble gum.

 

What’s your favorite thing about working at Firespring?

My favorite part is definitely the company culture and that everyone is working toward a common goal.

Lisa Conklin is a senior media planner and buyer, helping place our clients’ ads all across the country.

 

Q: What skills do you bring to the table?

I have more than 12 years of media buying experience, and I have worked with media as a direct client, as a vendor and as an agency buyer which helps me relate to clients and media vendors and build relationships with them.

Brandon Myer is a digital print specialist, he knows all the secrets to making print projects shine.

 

Q: What’s something interesting about you?

Something interesting about me is my extreme Star Wars obsession (which I share with my brother). I have an extensive collection of comics, books, audiobooks, figurines, collectibles and more. I take it pretty seriously. (Also, Disney is butchering it, just saying.)

Anita Epp is a front-end developer, she is great at ensuring our client’s websites look top notch from every browser, every time.

 

Q: What’s your favorite thing about working at Firespring? 

I love the work—I love playing a small part in helping so many clients reach their audience.

Iain West is our new shipping and fulfillment specialist and he is here to fulfill all your wildest dreams – or at least your order.

 

Q: What’s something interesting about you?

I have a hobby that most might find scary or just down right stupid, but I skydive. I’ve been jumping out of perfectly good airplanes for about two years now. I love the hobby and couldn’t see myself stopping.
