You guys, I feel like this hamburger has some complex emotions and possibly self-esteem issues. He or she is all like: Hey, I’m made up of several layers of substance and all of the feels, it takes a lot to get to know me. I understand love, laughing and loss. I’m 85% lean.
I can be vital, I can get out of bed every morning and put on a brave face, I can snap a few selfies for various social media sites, I can, I can, I can again and again. I am a hamburger with pink glasses.
I feel like the contemporary use of animated .gifs in media is important. Perfect tiny loops, over and over until the end of time.
This .gif is five seconds long, it took me nearly three hours to animate it. Brainstorming an idea and storyboarding it was probably another 30 minutes.
I hope you’ll like it.
P.S. For those of you wondering, the pronunciation of “.gif” is a bit of a nerd battle among animators. It’s short for Graphic Interchange Format. So it’s a hard G. But the computer programmers who made it up had a dumb inside joke that it was a soft G, and it went with the Jif peanut butter ad campaign at the time, Choosy Moms Choose Jif.
My last name starts with a hard G, my mother’s maiden name starts with a hard G, the word graphic starts with a hard G, so that’s what I say.
