Firespring has acquired Deposit a Gift, a crowdfunding platform focused on helping small- and medium-sized nonprofit organizations plan and execute successful crowdfunding campaigns. Firespring Founder and CEO Jay Wilkinson says the acquisition positions Firespring as a leading provider of crowdfunding services for those organizations.
“Nonprofit groups are exploring crowdfunding as a source of revenue, but many don’t know how to go about it,” Wilkinson said. “Deposit a Gift provides our clients with easy access and expert assistance in crowdfunding. It’s a perfect fit with our mission to help nonprofits make the most of their limited resources.”
Deposit a Gift Founder Dana Ostomel started the business in 2010. She says the company is more than just a do-it-yourself crowdfunding platform.
