One word that we find consistently in retention marketing manager Bridget Anderson, is loyalty. She strives to create loyalty between Firespring and its clients while also being a loyal volunteer at her church. When she was growing up, her family prioritized giving back to their community, which is why Bridget finds so much joy in upholding the value of volunteerism.
Tell us a little bit about what you do at Firespring.
I’m a retention marketing manager, which means I work with my team to market to Firespring’s existing clients. We focus on bringing back clients who have already done business with us and keeping clients who are already connected to us. My favorite part of my job is my team. We truly care about our clients and ensure that they get the maximum value out of their partnership with Firespring.
And when you’re off the clock and giving back?
I volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward. I love being able to give back to the church that I grew up in. It has given me a sense of purpose and a broader perspective on life and the world.
When you’re volunteering, what are your responsibilities?
I’m primarily involved with my church’s holy hour program. On Mondays and Wednesdays we hold Eucharistic Adoration, which is when the Eucharistic Host is displayed in a monstrance on the altar so that all can see and pray in the presence of Christ. The Host is exposed for 24-hours on those days, so volunteers choose an hour throughout the day to come to church and be present.
While the holy hour program is what I’m involved with now, I’ve actually been volunteering (off and on) at my church since I attended elementary school there. In the past, I’ve helped with bake sales, fish frys, our annual auction and grading homework for the school teachers.
What about that particular nonprofit do you love—why did you choose them?
Volunteering at my church gives me a sense of purpose. I love that I can look forward to visiting a place that gives me peace and clarity each week while giving back to the community.
Outside of work and volunteering, what are you passionate about?
I am obsessed with music. All kinds! There’s just something amazing about what music can do for your soul and the healing it brings.
How about your family—can you tell us a bit about them?
I’m actually surrounded by a family of active volunteers! My grandparents and my dad were on the Seward Volunteer Fire Department as I was growing up. So, I spent many hours helping at community events and breakfasts sponsored by the fire department. Other than that, I am an only child, have a cat named Essie and live my life trying to help bring joy to other people.
